Consortium as a whole
The BioCog consortium is a group of academic institutions, research centres and companies with common interest in post-operative cognitive disorders and the role of the nicotinic system and the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway in this condition.
The scale of magnitude and complexity of the POD/POCD disorders required a European dimension of this project as no single institution has the required research expertise and infrastructure to attack the POD/POCD problem in a comprehensive way.
